July has been a brilliant mix on our Instagram (@airpets). We answered the questions pet owners ask us most, had a bit of fun with the football, went behind the scenes of boarding day, and waved off some of our most unusual passengers yet. Here’s a look back at everything that’s been happening.
Answering your most-asked questions
We spent a good part of the month tackling the questions we hear time and again from owners planning a move abroad. We explained whether your pet can travel on the same flight as you (in most cases, yes, with your pet in the temperature and pressure controlled hold while you’re in the cabin), and we tackled the big worry of jet lag, reassuring owners that pets usually settle into their new routine within a few days. We also broke the UK to USA relocation down into seven clear steps, and rounded up six of the most common mistakes we see, so owners can avoid the delays and extra costs that small errors can cause.
Behind the scenes of boarding day
We know that leaving your dog before an international flight is often the part owners worry about most, so we showed exactly what happens when your dog boards with us. From comfortable kennels and secure exercise paddocks to regular walks, feeding routines and final travel preparations, our team is there every step of the way. Our aim is simple: to care for your pet as if they were our own until it’s time for them to begin the next chapter of their journey.
Not every passenger has paws
One of the highlights of the month was a rather unusual relocation. We safely moved a group of axolotls to Lisbon, Portugal, travelling in specialist water filled bags designed to keep them secure and comfortable throughout the journey. After a short flight and a few days to settle in, they’re now happy and thriving in their new home. From dogs and cats to some of the world’s more unusual pets, every relocation is carefully planned to make sure each animal arrives safely.
Thank you to everyone who liked, saved, shared and commented along the way. Here’s to another month of safe journeys and happy arrivals.
