What is the Rabies Titer Test (FAVN)?

The Rabies Titer Test, also called the FAVN test, is a blood test that confirms your pet has an adequate immune response to the rabies vaccine. Many rabies-controlled destinations — including Australia, Hawaii, and several Asian countries — require this test before they’ll permit entry. Blood is taken at least 30 days after rabies vaccination, then sent to an approved laboratory, and most destinations require a waiting period (often three to six months) between a successful test result and travel.
