How do I measure my dog or cat for an airline-approved crate?

Airpets needs four measurements of your pet, taken while they’re standing on a flat surface:

  • A — length from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail
  • B — height from the ground to the elbow joint
  • C — width across the shoulders at the widest point
  • D — height from the ground to the top of the head (or the tip of the ear for erect-eared breeds)

The minimum airline-compliant crate dimensions are then calculated as:

  • Length = A + ½ B
  • Width = C × 2
  • Height = D + 10 cm

Send these four measurements to your Airpets consultant and we’ll source a crate that meets IATA standards for your pet.
